Did You Know???
Humans are mammals. The word mammal comes from the Latin mamma,
meaning breast, because female mammals produce milk to nurse their babies.
Nearly all mammals give birth to live young,
and all are warm-blooded, maintaining a near-constant body temperature
regardless of environmental conditions.
They are vertebrates and use lungs to breathe air .
They are the only animals that grow hair.
Mammals probably appeared on Earth some 200 million years ago.

A.Aardvarks live throughout Africa, south of the Sahara. Their name comes from South Africa's Afrikaans language and means "earth pig." A glimpse of the aardvark's body and long snout brings the pig to mind. On closer inspection, the aardvark appears to include other animal features as well. It boasts rabbitlike ears and a kangaroo tail-yet the aardvark is related to none of these animals.
B.Blue-footed boobies are aptly named, and males take great pride in their fabulous feet. During mating rituals, male birds show off their feet to prospective mates with a high-stepping strut. The bluer the feet, the more attractive the mate.
C.Of the 25 species of chipmunks, all but one, Asia's Tamias sibiricus, is found in North America. Ranging from Canada to Mexico, they are generally seen scampering through the undergrowth of a variety of environments from alpine forests to shrubby deserts. Some dig burrows to live in, complete with tunnels and chambers, while others make their homes in nests, bushes, or logs.
D.Dugongs are related to manatees and are similar in appearance and behavior- though the dugong's tail is fluked like a whale's. Both are related to the elephant, although the giant land animal is not at all similar in appearance or behavior.
E.These famous freshwater predators get their name from the enormous electrical charge they can generate to stun prey and dissuade predators. Their bodies contain electric organs with about 6,000 specialized cells called electrocytes that store power like tiny batteries. When threatened or attacking prey, these cells will discharge simultaneously, emitting a burst of at least 600 volts, five times the power of a standard U.S. wall socket.
